Thinking of creating a mobile application? I have previously posted about programming complexity and commonly missed requirements. Well, I forgot to add piracy prevention.
Most mobile developers ignore piracy as it often hinders legitimate users in some shape or form. Also, many developers are of the opinion that people who use pirate copies are unlikely […]

I came across an interesting post at ABI Research today on the need to differentiate phone OS netbooks (always connected to carrier, instant on, long battery life) from today’s netbooks.

There’s an interesting recent article at the Guardian on app stores. I found one part, taking about Ovi, particularly interesting…

Gartner has just published their worldwide mobile phone sales statistics for Q109. The smartphone numbers will be of most interest for developers… Also… "Symbian accounted for 49.3 per cent of worldwide smartphone operating systems (OS) market share in the first quarter of 2009, down from 56.9 per cent share in the first quarter of 2008. RIM’s smartphone […]

I was interested to read that Apple might look to software to differentiate multiple iPhone models…
"Selling models differentiated by hardware seems unlikely. Different iPhones with very different physical specs could have far-reaching implications for Apple’s production methods, volumes and costs."
While I find this very surprising, I can see it makes sense from a 3rd party […]
