Mobile Linux More Configurable?

Wednesday, November 30th, 2005

Montavista has partnered with SKY MobileMedia, Bluefin Mobile and Digital Airways to demonstrate an integrated mobile Linux phone solution.
According to LinuxDevices, the Mobilinux Open Framework is being sold as being much more configurable (for network operators and phone OEMs) than Symbian or Windows Mobile…

The real question is whether this is really a good thing. Do […]

Monday, November 28th, 2005

PMN are gearing up for their Mobile User Experience conference in May 2006. Mobile User Experience is all encompassing. It covers the user’s perceptions from the time of deciding to purchase a phone, using the phone, right up to the time when that phone is finally upgraded.

Phone Market Grows 16% in 3Q05

Friday, November 25th, 2005

IDC’s Western European Quarterly Mobile Phone Market Tracker reports double digit growth in 3Q05 as shipments increased by 16% year on year.

Symbian OS 9 Coding

Wednesday, November 23rd, 2005

I am deep in Symbian OS 9.1 coding at the moment and it’s proving very difficult. I suppose it’s mainly because the UIQ and Series 60 3rd Edition SDKs are still in beta. You hit a problem and it takes a day to solve rather than the usual minutes or hours. Often the error messages bare […]

There’s a chance to win $100 in Amazon vouchers if you provide feedback on your current use and satisfaction with the various types of Windows Mobile technical content.
This is a great way to feedback your thoughts to Microsoft. It’s things like this that end up making Windows Mobile development so much easier. Microsoft takes developers seriously. Symbian (and […]
