I came across an interesting post at ABI Research today on the need to differentiate phone OS netbooks (always connected to carrier, instant on, long battery life) from today’s netbooks.

ARM vendors, starting with Qualcomm are starting to use the term Smartbook.

I can also see Smartbooks creating confusion among analysts (Garner, IDC et al) who have gone through similar identity crises determining what’s a smartphone, what a featurephone and what’s a PDA.
