Motorola Drops Symbian for Android

moto.gifAccording to mocoNews and the recent Motorola earnings highlights

"Motorola will focus on Android, Windows Mobile, and own P2K platform for low-cost handsets. Will no longer support Symbian UIQ or own Java-Linux platform. Consolidation of platforms should reduce expenses on OS development."

It’s interesting Motorola have chosen Android over Symbian Foundation/S60. I guess this has something to do with the fact that Symbian Foundation isn’t ‘here and now’. Motorola needs some shorter term fixes for it’s Smartphone lineup.
