dotMobi has been compiling a DeviceAtlas for some time now. Up until today, when I received a press release on dotMobi’s inclusion of Mobizoft video content adaptation data, I hadn’t taken a look at it because I saw it as mainly applicable for web developers.

However, taking a look at, for example, the data on the Nokia N95 8Gb, I can see there’s lots of data that can be used by (native and Java) application developers. As well as the expected data on screen sizes, OS and web browser there’s also data on audio, video, DRM and some (limited) JavaVM data. For example, here are the N95 8Gb video capabilities…

The DeviceAtlas is very comprehensive because it includes data from Argogroup and Volantis. What’s more, it’s free to browse - you just have to be a member of the dotMobi community.
