Retired Sites
I have recently rationalised my various web sites and have moved the ones I am keeping to one dedicated server. I previously had shared and dedicated Linux/Windows hosting all over the place. It was getting unnecessarily complicated and costing more than it should for my limited number of sites.
The upside is that www.mobilephonedevelopment is now very fast. It takes less than a second to serve a page when it previously took up to 7 seconds on shared hosting. This helps me when I am writing posts because I can post quicker and much more reliably (no more lost connections while editing in Wordpress!).
The downside is that I have retired a few sites that I no longer see as worthwhile. People have particularly emailed me about www.symbiancodex.com and www.j2mecodex.com. Sorry, they are no longer available. Instead, please go to Google Code Search that’s vastly superior and I actually use on a daily basis.
