It describes an interesting way to get data into a S60 phone via the pop-port connector.
Another interesting aspect of the project is the use of mShell to program the s60 that removed the need for complicated c++.
This makes me wonder what else could be connected to an S60 phone in this way. Extending the thermometer project a little, you would be able to use your phone as a voltmeter. Connect it to sensors of various kinds and you have a simple remote telemetry unit that can send an SMS or phone you while observing things such as levels (e.g. stock, sound, speed), security, ambient data (e.g. weather) or counts (e.g. traffic, heart beat).
