Up to now, companies in the mobile Linux ecosystem have done their own thing. The Mobile Linux Initiative is an attempt to create shared (open) specifications, processes, tools and software that OEMs, ISVs and network operators can use. In some ways, this initiative can be seen as the Symbian of the mobile Linux world.
