BlueProximity
Sometimes when thinking through new ideas for mobile, it’s difficult to get out of a certain type of thinking. A good example of this is reacting to and displaying server or PC events/data on the phone. What if you turn this around and report on the server/PC events related to a phone?
BlueProximity is one such clever idea that locks your PC based on the proximity of your phone (or any other Bluetooth device).
Another great idea is ALK’s CoPilot Live web site that plots your position when you navigate on your connected Pocket PC. Obvious I know. However, what’s innovative is that this has been extended so the person viewing via the web can send messages with predefined answers that are presented as buttons to the driver. It’s also possible to explore and send new destinations via the web interface.
I come across many current ideas based on cellid and/or GPS that filter down social network users, adverts or search results. If you really want to be innovative, start thinking about what you might do on the PC or server based on a phone’s position or what the phone user is doing - and then think how web users (or an automated system) might interact.
