Mobile Phone Users Trapped in 2003

apptrigger.gifToday, there’s a new study by AppTrigger that shows 57 per cent of UK users have not advanced their use of mobile phones in five years. While the study just covers the UK, I am sure this is true for many other countries.

This doesn’t surprise me. When I happen to meet non-computing professionals I often wonder why they still have such old mobile phones and don’t use mobile services that could make life easier. I believe that many (but not all) network operators are still not doing enough to stimulate new usecases. Their core competency is still building networks and billing.

Full results of the study can be found free of charge on the AppTrigger site
