The book UIQ 3: The Complete Guide, that I helped write earlier this year, is now online in the form of a Wiki. There are six chapters there at the moment and more will be added by UIQ in the coming days.

The book will be published conventionally, in paperback form, via Symbian Press in 2008. However, the Wiki represents a new way to publish the book. Many Symbian developers are in developing countries where the cost of technical books can be prohibitive. The Wiki allows a greater range of people to learn about UIQ development.

Also, once all the whole book has been uploaded, the Wiki will be opened so that anyone can contribute corrections and new material. It will also allow the book to evolve as Symbian OS and UIQ evolve. For example, it will be easier to incorporate the forthcoming changes to Symbian Signed.
