Purple Labs
I came across Purple Labs this week. They are working on (yet another) variant of mobile Linux. However, this time there’s substance in the shape of open source code available that was used in the Dreamphone G500i.
This variant of Mobile Linux utilises open source, licensed and in-house code. Purple Labs acts as a one stop shop allowing you to license the combination from just one vendor.
Purple Labs have just raised $14.5 million USD in initial round VC funding so it will be interesting to see where this takes them (a new web site would be a good start).
