Motorola MOTOMAGX
Motorola launched their mobile Linux based MOTOMAGX platform today. It will allow development under Java ME, via WebUI Widgets and some time in the near future, native development.

At the moment, being a ‘Strong Ecosystem’ (at the bottom of the above image), is probably a wild claim. The first products based on the MOTOMAGX platform are the music-optimized MOTOROKRTM Z6 and MOTORAZR2 V8 handsets which have yet to ship in significant numbers that would justify developing for the platform. However, with Motorola claiming up to 60 percent of their handset portfolio is expected to be based on Linux in the next few years, this could be the one to watch. It also makes me wonder what would happen if they licensed the platform to other phone OEMs.
