Phone APNs
One thing I am continually doing is setting up new phones with an appropriate Internet Access Point (APN). It’s usually straightforward and involves a visit to either the Sony Ericsson, Nokia or Motorola (select country then operator settings) web sites that send settings to your phone.
However, what happens when the combination you want isn’t listed? You have to either phone the appropriate network operator or find and enter the details manually. Phoning the network operator doesn’t always help - I have even been told by one large UK network operator that I might as well use the Nokia site as that’s what they use!
Finding settings for manual entry isn’t always easy. Here’s a great listing that I sometimes use.
Note: Some Nokia S60 phones have a Settings Wizard in the Tools folder which is often useful.
