November MoMo London
Last night’s MoMo London was themed ‘Mobile Trends’ with the brief to take a view of where we have come from over the last year and where we are going into next year.
Helen Keegan and Tom Hume gave their current thoughts while Ajit Jaokar gave what some people are considering (myself included) to be a Utopian view of where we might be in the near future. Paul Goode from M:Metrics gave a great presentation with a barrage of facts and figures to stimulate the mind.
Some things I took away from the event…
- Most of the current mobile applications/campaigns are still centred around SMS. This is the lowest common denominator that will work on the maximum number of phones.
- There’s still potential to do innovative things with non-leading edge mobile technologies.
- Mobile web advertising (via Admob) is currently very successful.
- 3G is actually driving the uptake of content consumption (even though 3G growth is relatively slow).
- Teenagers don’t consume much content. The 25-44 age range is much more significant.
