Smartphone Growth
IDC have just released their analysis of converged mobile device sales for Q2/2006. It shows that Nokia is still well ahead with 46.9% of the market.

It’s interesting that despite all the hype over RIM, they still has a very small share of the market.
IDC claim that smartphone sales are being driven by the availability of email (for enterprise) and multimedia applications (for prosumers) . If this is so, it echo’s the PDA market where one application (e.g. GPS routing) helped grow the market considerably.
