The Rethink Research Report into mobile TV caught my eye as I am currently working on a Symbian based Mobile TV (DVB-H) project. I think they are right in that there will be multiple ways of receiving video ranging from simple downloads (as now) to live broadcasts. They are also right in that there’s likely to be contention between content owners and network operators for ‘ownership’ of the consumer. As for the numbers…

"…we are forecasting the delivery of a minimum of 164 million TV capable handsets being shipped by 2011"

… that’s anyone’s guess.
