Access Point Settings
It’s annoying that some many phones don’t come preconfigured for internet access. This confounds many users and is usually the first hurdle that puts them off using internet based services.
As network operators can’t be relied on to set up the phones they supply, Nokia now includes a ‘SettingsWizard‘ on Series 60 and Series 80 devices. Nokia and the other major manufacturers also have free web sites where settings can be sent via SMS to a user’s phone. I have listed the main ones for a while now in the right hand listing on my blog. If you are a developer, you might want to create settings programmatically or by-hand. Access Systems, better known for their Netfront web browser, have a useful listing of common access points.
