According to IDC’s Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker, worldwide mobile phone shipments rose 19.3% year on year.

These figures are roughly in line with Strategy Analytics recent report. The slight discrepancies in percentage change year on year demonstrate the kind tolerance we should allow for when reading these types of report. Anyhow, it’s the general direction and magnitude that’s important rather than the exact figures.
